Planting flowers!
The boy couldn't wait for Memere and Papa to get here to plant flowers with him. He kept asking so we bought a couple today. The boy's choice and we planted them in a pot in the front of our house. Hopefully they do well. On a side note, the tree we moved seems to be thriving in it's new home. I think plants and trees do like a change of scenery! Memere, you may have to convince the boy that we need to "fix" his flowers.

The Plant Whisperers!
It is a well know fact that my mom has an amazing ability to grow anything. I think it is because she talks to her plants and moves them around the garden now and then. The boy and I dug up a dead bush in our yard and then transplanted a tree from another part of the yard. The result looks good so far. I told the boy that his memere talks to her plants. We decided we would whisper to ours hence the plant whisperers! Oh, the boy is out for hire! He is an awesome helper outside.

Before we left Guam we headed to one of the waterparks on the island. The whole family had a blast going down this particular slide. Here are my boys in action!

Quick Story
For some of you this will be funny. For others, it will be too much information I know. I shared because I thought it was hilarious. This happened on the way to school this morning at 8am.
The Boy: Mom, when the doctor cut open your tummy to get me out, could they see the food in there?
The Mom: Nope.
The Boy: Oh, that is because I ate it all right?
The Mom: Sort of, but honey, the doctor didn't cut you out of me. I pushed you out.
The Boy: You mean like a poop? Mom, did you poop me out? (all frantic of course!)
The Mom: I did not poop you out I promise.
The Boy: Oh, okay.
No one told me at age 4, my little man would ask "that" question already!

Backyard Camping
For over a year now, the boy has been asking to go camping. I wouldn't go in Guam, too many nasty bugs and I was reluctant to go at all. You never know how camping with a 4 year old will go. The dad was excited though and since we found a great sale on tents, sleeping bags, etc. he decided that it was a good time to stock up on needed supplies. Since that day two weeks ago, the boy has been driving us crazy about camping out. We've been so busy that heading to a campground hasn't been possible plus I was still apprehensive. We compromised by "camping out" in the backyard. We pitched the tent, washed the sleeping bags, got the air mattresses ready, bought a small fire pit and had our own little camp out. I know what you are thinking......air mattresses. Hey, I'll sleep outside no problem as long as I am somewhat comfortable. Who really wants to sleep on the hard ground anyway?
We roasted hotdogs, made smores and sang songs around the fire. We all passed out at the same time and seemed to sleep okay in the tent. In the the morning I was so pleased at how we all faired and thought the boy seemed to enjoy it too. He did tell me that while he had fun he would like to camp for "real" sometime instead of "fake" camping. All I could do was laugh after all the work we put into it to make it fun for him! We are planning a camping trip for sometime soon. I hope the beautfil weather holds up or I'll head home to sleep in my amazing bed!

Our new additions!
The boy has been asking for a puppy for some time now. Those that know him well know that he is actually terrified of big dogs and highly allergic to most breeds. We very briefly contemplated getting a designer (hypoallergenic) dog but decided against it as I (the mom) am not the biggest fan of dogs and would be the one mostly in charge. The boy, however, loves cats as well. Once he knew a dog was out, he asked for a cat. Well he asked for a cat or a sibling really but it's obvious what we chose!
I'd like to introduce you to Hunter and Chase. Hunter is the one in the first picture with Chase following in the second one. They are brothers from the same litter and are currently 6 weeks old. It's hard to tell them apart when they playing but Chase has a softer coat and his face has more of a brownish tone to it. They are balls of love and tons of fun. We are all in love already.

It was a tough decision to get some kittens. As many of you know, we once had two black cats (Sugar and Spice) who were our first babies that I still miss dearly. Leaving them behind when we headed to Guam was so hard, especially when we found out they were heading to a shelter a few months later. The heartache was bad. I know most of you think I am crazy but those girls were a big part of our lives. Hindsight is 20/20 though and we'll never make a bad decision like that again. These boys have found a forever home for sure!

More Egg Hunting!
We had a bunch of eggs in the backyard for the boy to find. He loves hunting for eggs. The dad slipped out early to put them out and then we waited for the "neighbor to call" when he spotted the Easter bunny. Thank goodness for cell phones and the ability to call ourselves. The boy flew out the back door and while he was doing that the dad put some big eggs heading to the boy's room. When we came back inside he found the eggs and then found the big surprise of Legos on his bed. He has been asking to get the Pirate Ship Legos for a long time and the bunny finally brought them. Right now he is the man!
