The Exploreum!
We headed to the Exploreum in Mobile about a week ago. We have been wanting to check it out and we are surely glad we did. It was a lot of fun and there was much to do there for the boy. The hour drive wasn’t even bad. It’s not a big place but that have some fun activities for kids. The reptile exhibit was going on so we got to check out all sorts of snakes, turtles, lizards, etc. They even had a giant boa constrictor. The boys loved it, the mom not so much.
They also have a hands-on section. The boy loved doing all the activities he could. He was all impressed with himself for pulling his body up. (see video) He didn’t quite get that all the pulleys were really helping him. He flexed for us as soon as he got himself back down but of course the camera missed that. It was really cute though and funny as well. The boy was all impressed with the laser harp and played us a lovely tune…….it went on and on and on!
We headed to the all about the body display after that. They have a series of tests for you to perform to see how you measure up. I was pretty impressed with the boy and all that he could do. We had to measure our heart rates, blood pressure, do a jumping test, a strength test and a grip test, plus more. That is also where the body puzzle was. (see picture)
There is so much more I could share but I would just go on and on. If you are ever in the Mobile area, I would encourage you to check it out. Enjoy the pictures. There are lots of them!

Swimming!
The boy has been taking swim lessons this summer and just loves it. He is already on Level 3 in the Red Cross program and he has only had 3 sessions. Just like his mom and dad, he is a little fish! His last lesson was today and we will miss his teacher this winter but are already looking forward to picking up where he is leaving off next summer. He is my swimming fool!

The Boy's Birthday Party!
So the boy recently turned 5 and he wanted to have a Pirate themed party. After much debate we decided to have it here at our house. The dad dressed up as a pirate and led the kids (11 total) on an adventure. The kids walked the plank, pinned the treasure on the X, had cannon target practice and had a treasure hunt that ended with a pinata. I think everyone had fun. I was so happy the party went well but 11 kids, WOW. What was I thinking?! The pictures are backwards as the plank was the first thing they did but you still get the idea of the whole party. The boy had the best time and even remembers the dad's pirate name......Squinty LaFeet.

The Whole Gang!

The boy loved his presents!

Grabbing the Loot from the pinata!
